Hunger and Under-Nutrition in Green Revolutionary State of Punjab

Publisher: IJAFST

The paper attempts to understand the state of affairs pertaining to hunger and under-nutrition in the green revolution State of Punjab. The basic hypothesis is that such a State should be free from this malady. Low weight, thinness, stunting among children and body mass index level among adults, incidence of micronutrient deficiencies including anaemia across different segments of population are the indicators used for the purpose. Various Secondary data sources including NFHS, DLHS, NNMB, NSSG and primary data from different government departments have been put in service. Analysis defy the hypothesis as the State figured disproportionately on these indicators.
