Farm Production Diversity, Household Dietary Diversity and Women's Bmi: A Study of Rural Indian Farm Households

Undernutrition is more widespread and persistent in South Asia including India; with higher number of undernourished in rural areas and those in agriculture. Though functionally there is ample scope for agriculture to contribute towards the improvement of undernutrition, the evidence so far in the Indian context shows weak linkages. This study probes further to understand the relevance of diversity in crop production and livestock ownership in reducing undernourishment by focusing on women‘s BMI in rural areas.
